Brenda comes from a family that is true Maroon. Her family includes four generations of AHS alumni, beginning with her grandfather in 1910 and pausing with her daughter in 2006. Brenda attended AHS from 1970 to 1973 where she was a member of the Red Jackets and a cheerleader. A 1977 UT graduate with a B.S. in education, she taught for several years in Dallas before returning to Austin to teach kindergarten, retiring in 2009 after 19 years at Bryker Woods Elementary. Brenda is a dedicated community volunteer, currently devoting her time to Hospice Austin and Austin Pets Alive along with AHSCEF. She and husband Bob have two children, Ben, AHS ’03, and Julie, AHS ’06.
